JYJ Jaejoong’s fan club stepped up to help babies who are abandoned at ‘baby boxes,’ boxes for unready mothers to leave their children.
On May 12, global child welfare organization Green Umbrella Children’s Foundation stated, “JYJ member Jaejoong’s fan club ‘Callous Hero’s Nunas’ donated to commemorate Jaejoong’s military enlistment.” After donating $9114 USD (10 million Won) for Jaejoong’s birthday, the fan club has donated $4557 USD (5 million Won) to commemorate the idol star’s enlistment.
Jaejoong’s fans have been donating to the Green Umbrella Children’s Foundation since 2009. How awesome of them!
Child Fund Korea, a charity for helping neglected infants, revealed on May 12, “The fan club of JYJ member Kim Jaejoong donated in commemoration of his military enlistment. ”
The singer’s fan club donated 10 million won (approx. 9,000 USD) to help neglected infants last year, and has donated 5 million won (approx. 4,500 USD) this year again. Moreover, this fan club has been supporting Child Fund Korea ever since 2009, along with other charities related to helping the young.
The Director of Headquarters of Child Fund Korea stated, “A new kind of culture is on the rise as people donate in the name of their favorite star, or donate in celebration of something related to the star. We will use the funds with care in remembrance of the fans who want to help these kids in need,” and expressed his gratefulness.
